The Taipei Airport is more than a melange of fast food restaurants offering everything from Japanese to Western food. It is an airport ready for every emergency with its Medical Center and First Aid stations. It can help those who which to commune with their deity by offering the use of 3 prayer rooms. In them are chairs for Christians, cushions facing the right direction for Islamic worshipers and rush cushions for Buddhists. If travelers are tired, weary and feeling grubby, the airport has showers and the Transit Hotel. Afterwards, it is possible to visit an exhibit at the Art Gallery or wander through the displays of any of several museums. Taipei Airport is home to 3 museums: the Aviation Museum with its history of flight, the National Palace Museum focusing on the exhibit of Chinese culture, artwork and relics, and the National Museum of History which presents various displays of Chinese Arts and Crafts. At all museums, you can purchase memorabilia, replicas and other related items. These are wonderful souvenirs to take home. If you do not find anything suitable there, try the Taiwanese and specialist products sold by the Hsin Tung Yang Store or drop into the Everrich Duty Free Shop.
